Our Mission

Support & Encourage

Exterior Picture

KIMC’s mission is to provide a resource to support and encourage the economic development, health and wellbeing, regeneration and sustainability of a neighbourhood, which has suffered from years of under investment and social exclusion.

The Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre provides an integrated community training/meeting and resource centre for residents from this area as well as being a Merseyside wide resource, particularly for members of Black and Racial Minority (BRM) Communities.  KIMC firmly acknowledges its roots as a vision that has been developed and delivered by Liverpool Black Sisters and will continue to place an emphasis on women’s issues.

A page of recognition will be produced on the site to remember all who have been involved in the history of Liverpool Black Sisters and the Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre.

If anyone has a story to share where their life was changed due to a service provided in either LBS or KIMC, please forward it for consideration to be included on the website.

The Board of Trustees, Centre Manager and staff would like to take the time to thank all who have supported or helped KIMC to get where it is today.
