Community Celebration At Kuumba
Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre in partnership with Pidgin Productions, Visual Impact, Merseyside Black History Month Group and L8 Create celebrate the historic inauguration of Barack Obama. As part of the historic moment of the inauguration of the first black President of the United States of America, a number of community organisations have come together to organise a community celebration to witness this historic event.
President elect Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America at 11.30am (US time) in Washington, whilst at the same time, community members and organisations from the Liverpool 8 (Toxteth) area will share this momentous occassion by watching it via a big screen showing at the Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre.
This event will be a free event and will include the screening of the event, plus music provided by local Dj's and refreshments provided by local cultural caterers to those in attendance.
